Series Louis Seize chairs

The series of 7 chairs still has the original painting, also on the backwebbing.

The decoration with rosettes on the houses, fluted legs, a bow on the back and on the front line give

a good picture of the work of the carpenter-mousekeeper who, unlike the ebeniste, worked in softwood.

The front line bulges in the middle, creating extra leg comfort.

The seat is upholstered with white horsehair, special and extremely durable.

Holland, late 18th century. H 90 cm. Provenance: former collection Bredius in The Hague.
